Underground Salt Mine
The underground mine doesn't have the word "mine" in it's title by design and it is the only mine of it's kind in the western hemisphere.
Strataca
It was in the middle of nowhere KS - drove on this road for miles.
Hutchinson, Kansas
There are no claustrophobic squeezes here, no deadly gasses, not even any dirt. The tour is like being in a parking garage -- except that its 67 miles long and sealed inside of a 400 foot thick block of salt. The adventure begins on a double decker hoist taking you 650 feet underground amid walls of salt that stretch for miles. Vast chambers carved from salt deposits await deep in the earth, but on the way down you experience the sensation of total darkness. It is always 68 degrees with a 45% relative humidity. This is the most secure and elusive underground storage facility in the world.
AMAZING!
